Today, Rio and Dada woke up early and left home by 8:00am for Kyoto! Today, Jono’s longtime friend (and cosmic twin ….. owing to her same exact birth date) Erica visited from Tokyo.

In any normal situation, this would no doubt be cause for celebration. However, today, Erica’s means of transportation, which was unbeknownst to Jono, was ABSOLUTELY cause for celebration. Just like the thousands of Samurai before her, Erica traveled the Tokaido trail from Tokyo to Kyoto. A distance longer than 300 miles, Erica traversed the trail in about three weeks!

Our time together was short (less than two hours), but at least we got these wonderful photos out of it!
